X-Men: First Class Sequel Ideas

OK, So I know I've been hitting the X-Men: First Class articles a lot out lately but there's no denying that the film is gaining huge momentum upon it's release in eight days time. Early reviews say it's great, skeptical fans are being won over, and it looks like Fox have a master franchise now in their hands. With a sequel already green lit, First Class director Matthew Vaughn has admitted he intends to introduce one main character to go head to head with Magneto now (spoiler alert) Professor X is in a wheel chair.
Who could this character be? Under the basis that this new X-Men trilogy remains a prequel to the original three films, the character being introduced in the sequel to First Class surely cannot be Cyclops. Especially since the sequel is rumoured to be set at the same time as the JFK assassination, which keeps the film firmly in the 60′s. Meaning Cyclops couldn't even have been born yet. Given the timing of the movie, what better character to have then the mutant known as Warpath.
A fairly recent addition to the X-Men roster in comics, James Proudstar would fit into the dynamic of the First Class sequel perfectly. For one thing he has proven to be a highly popular character in the Marvel Universe, and his superhuman strength and agility would make for some great action sequences in the film. Plus he wields two huge knives for combat, add that as well as having a dark background you have a recipe for success. It seems Warpath would more than compensate (if cast right) for the lack of Wolverine in the motion picture. Plus he's a Apache Native American and given the huge amount of racism evident in the early 1960′s, his character could be just as vulnerable to racial prejudice as well as prejudice against mutants making the character more relatable than Wolverine ever was.
Plus unlike Wolverine, Warpath does not have an adamantium skeleton therefore he'd actually be capable of holding his own against the likes of Magneto. He seems a logical choice and seeing as he is a relatively new character, injecting him into the status quo shouldn't cause too many continuity rifts. If Fox our going to truly redeem the X-Men franchise, what better way to start then giving us fresh, new and exciting characters such as Warpath.
This is however going under the basis that First Class is a reboot to the original X-Men trilogy (or at least Bryan Singer's films). If the film is successful, and Fox decide to make First Class their reboot, then I can see the supposed original X-Men being introduced much sooner then we think.

Movie Review: 404 Error Not Found - Confused 4 Naught 4!

What can you say about a film that has Imad Shah plastered all over the posters and yet that he's billed as a special appearance? 'Confused', could be the ideal word to best describe 404 Error Not Found but the mess that it ends up being, in spite of a decent premise that too would be crediting it with too much!
404 Error Not Found Plot
Tired of his seniors ragging him to no end a bright medical student, Gaurav, commits suicide in room number 404 of the college's hostel. Three years later, Gaurav's classmates are doing the same number on yet another bright spark Abhimanyu (Rajvvir Aroraa). Unlike Gaurav Abhi takes things head on and even persuades the Dean to allow him to shift into the notorious room where Gaurav ended his life. Professor Aniruddh (Nishikant Kamat) is very impressed with Abhi's attitude and starts taking a special interest in him much to the anger of Chris (Imad Shah), the senior who is the king of the parallel world that exists in the hostel. Chris starts messing around with Abhi's mind and soon all the rationality and reasoning that best described Abhi vanishes into thin air. He begins to 'see' the dead Gaurav everywhere and even starts talking to his spirit. Aniruddh's wife, the resident psychiatrist (Tisca Chopra) tries to convince her husband to help Abhi but the more Abhi believes in Gaurav's presence, the angrier Aniruddh gets with him. Aniruddh decides to prove it to Abhimanyu that Gaurav is just a figment of his imagination but just as the celebrated professor rests his case he is greeted by a shock.

404 Error Not Foundcomes across as one of those films that was perhaps the result of far too many one liners. Prawaal Raman gets the atmosphere of the moody thriller right very early on in the film (aided largely by Savita Singh's cinematography) but the meandering screenplay does a great deal of harm. Raman lays far too much stress on the necessary evils of the genre like moody music, the crazy camera angles, somber atmosphere and such rather than moving ahead with clarity. The one thing that mars 404 Error Not Found,is how most of the characters aren't well defined. Almost all of them are very conveniently painted in extremes so when they try to be a little three dimensional they come across as cardboard cutouts.

Final Words on 404 Error Not Found

In a growing trend of directors turning actors, Nishikant Kamat (Dombivali Fast, Mumbai Meri Jaan) plays Aniruddh with much conviction and makes the professor who knows it all as believable as the script would permit. Shah tries to make Chris cool but ends taking the brief a little too seriously so he swaggers and rolls his eyes like a cool cat should and as expectedly becomes tedious beyond a point. Tisca Chopra and Rajvvir Aroraa are fine but how one wishes the screenplay defined their roles better. Satish Kaushik's golden hearted warden oscillates between being sweet and perfunctory.

Like many of those instant bestsellers 404 Error Not Found takes just about everything under the sun in order to string a story but it doesn't work as well. Savita Singh's cinematography is one of the best things that makes404 Error Not Found bearable and there's this one very well crafted scene where Abhi tries to show Aniruddh things as he sees them but it isn't enough to redeem 404 Error Not Found.

404 Error Not Found Rating: 1 1/2 out of 5
